Have you ever won something that completely took you by surprise? Well, that's exactly what happened to us when my wife's health coaching business won a cruise trip to Ft Lauderdale. We were beyond excited and couldn't wait to embark on this amazing adventure. In this blog post, I'll share with you how we booked our flight options and found the perfect hotel for the night before the cruise.

Flight Options

Living in Austin, TX we have a few direct flights to Ft Lauderdale. After doing some research, we found two major airlines that offered flights to our destination: Delta and Southwest.

Delta had a convenient non-stop flight, but the prices were a bit steep. On the other hand, Southwest doesn't assign seats but the fares were more budget-friendly. Considering our excitement and the fact that we wanted to save some money for the trip itself, we decided to go with Southwest.

Booking the flights was a breeze. We simply visited Southwest's website, entered our travel dates, and selected the best flight options. We made sure to choose a flight that arrived in Ft Lauderdale with enough time for us to settle in and relax before the cruise departure the next day.

Booking the Hotel

Since our cruise was scheduled to depart early in the morning, we wanted to stay in a hotel near the port the night before. This would ensure that we didn't have to rush and risk missing the ship.

After reading several reviews and considering our budget, we decided to book a room at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina. The hotel had great amenities, including a pool and a restaurant, and it was conveniently located just a short distance from the port.

Booking the hotel was as easy as booking the flights. We visited the hotel's website, entered our travel dates, and selected the room type that suited our needs. We were also able to add some special requests, such as a room with a view of the marina.

With our flights and hotel booked, we were all set for our adventure to Ft Lauderdale. We couldn't contain our excitement as the days drew closer to our departure. This trip was not only a reward for my wife's hard work but also a chance for us to relax and enjoy some quality time together.

So, if you ever find yourself in a similar situation, where you've won a trip and need to book flights and a hotel, remember to research your options, compare prices, and choose what works best for your budget and preferences. And most importantly, don't forget to enjoy every moment of your well-deserved adventure!
